My 2015 FLORA calendar features 12 of my floral illustrations that I've created over the years. They range in style from art nouveau inspired florals to more free flowing looser ink and watercolors. I love sketching flowers and nature. I find drawing from life very soothing. It is also a necessary step to creating from your imagination.  A fantasy creation, whether flora or fauna that is based on your observations of reality becomes all the more believable. I wish I had more time to make more of my sketches into finished art.

Summery Chartreuse Cymbidium Blossoms

There's something about chartreuse that makes me think of summer breezes. Chartreuse, a pale green with a touch of yellow, soft, not bright like lime green. Add exotic tropical cymbidium orchids to the equation and we now really have a summery, tropical vibe going. So here you have it, my ink and watercolor Chartreuse Cymbidium blossom floral motif on an assortment of nifty things in my shop, zazzle.com/deloshdesigns*  Can't you just feel that tropical breeze with the scent of exotic flowers, bringing you the best of summer no matter what the weather.

2013 Animal Fair Calendar

TAH DAH -  my first calendar design and just in time before it becomes too late! Please click on the image below to flip through all 12 months of my ink and watercolor animal illustrations.

I've always wanted to design a calendar with a collection of my illustrations. However it is not as simple as it seems. Firstly, which 12 illos get chosen? Does one pick a theme or do you just do a best work to date compilation? As a consumer, I tend to buy by theme/subject ie. cute cats for mom-in-law, cars for nephew, etc.  As an artist my body of work consists primarily of either Animals or florals -whimsical animals for the coming year it is. That was easy, now the hard part. Picking which illustrations  to include as well as which would work in the horizontal format as I discovered most of my images are vertical. Anyway hope you enjoy taking a gander.

1 Year Zazzle Anniversary Salebration

About a year ago, June 2010 I opened my Zazzle Shop DeloshDesigns* because I thought it would be fun to see what my illustrations looked like on T-shirts, mugs and a whole array of nifty items. An exercise in self- art licensing if you will.  To celebrate my 1 year anniversary at Zazzle I've temporarily lowered my royalty rate.
